Why Choose Ear Level Audio?
Rethinking the Guitar Cabinet
Guitar cabinets haven’t changed much in almost 80 years — but there’s no reason they can’t.
Ear Level Audio was created to bring modern design and innovation to the world of guitar tone. Our cabinets combine smart engineering, premium materials, and functional beauty to give players something new: better sound, better style, and better usability.
The Sound — At Ear Level
Traditional guitar cabs project sound at your knees. That’s why players often turn up too loud — and why it can sound harsh or “beamy.”
ELA cabinets solve this by raising your speakers to ear level, giving you a clear, natural sound without extra volume.
Each cab includes Mitchell Donuts to smooth treble response and eliminate ear fatigue. Whether you’re rehearsing or performing, you’ll get a balanced tone across the room — not just in the “sweet spot.”
Play in stereo or mono:
- Use two ELA cabs for a wide, immersive stereo field.
- Run them dual mono from one amp or true stereo with two amps.
Despite their slim shape, our cabinets match or exceed the internal volume of traditional cabs. Precision bracing keeps them rigid and resonant — without adding unnecessary weight.
Optional Active Subwoofer
Raising speakers off the floor reduces low-end “coupling.” To bring back that satisfying rumble, ELA cabs can include an optional 10” active subwoofer (100W).
The sub can be installed at purchase or added later with a retrofit kit. Adjust crossover and volume to taste — great for standard guitars, baritones, or 7+ strings.
Because bass is non-directional, you only need one sub per pair — but nothing stops you from running two if you want to shake the walls.
The Look — Built to Match Your Style
ELA cabinets are crafted from Baltic Birch and finished to your specs. Choose from classic or modern stains and grille cloths, or request custom Tolex or tweed finishes.
Whether you want vintage-inspired warmth or sleek minimalism, your ELA cabinet can match your sound and your space.
FRFR / PA Versatility
Need more flexibility? The ELA 112 can be configured with 12” coaxial speakers and an L-pad, turning it into a full-range (FRFR) or PA speaker.
Pair it with a power amp for modeling rigs, or use it in the studio. Active versions are in development for even more plug-and-play options.
Accessories & Customization
ELA cabinets aren’t just about sound — they’re about versatility.
- Hang your guitar: The tall form factor lets you display your instrument front and center.
- Stay stable: Add a sandbag in the lower chamber or wall-tether for extra security.
- Upgrade to XL: The optional base supports up to three guitars on one cab.
Each ELA cabinet includes ¼-20 threaded inserts on the front, top, and sides — ready for cameras, lights, tablets, microphones, cable hooks, and more. Adapters for 3/8” and 5/8” fittings expand compatibility even further.
Want more? Add matching top-mounted satellite speakers for vocals or full-range monitoring, finished to match your cabinet perfectly.
The Dolly — Built to Move
ELA cabinets are solid, but that doesn’t mean they’re hard to move.
With our optional dolly attachment, your cab becomes its own transport system. It slides onto the back of the stand and lets you roll it easily — grooves even fit felt pads to protect floors and stages.
Designed to Sound Better. Built to Look Better.
At Ear Level Audio, we’re redefining what a guitar cabinet can be — smarter design, better tone, and a look worth showing off.
